Expression of Interest / Coaching Opportunity

Willetton Football Club (WFC), competing in the Perth Football League and proudly based at Burrendah Park, is seeking expressions of interest for the position of Colts Coach for the 2025 season.

This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated, community-minded coach to help steer the development of young footballers transitioning into senior football while contributing to the broader culture and success of the club.

About the Role

The Colts Coach will lead the WFC Colts team throughout the 2025 season and is responsible for creating a strong football program centred on player development, game-plan implementation, leadership, and fostering a positive team environment. The role requires close collaboration with the Football Operations Manager, Senior Coaching Group, and WFC Committee. This position is remunerated with additional performance-based incentives.

Key Responsibilities

Training & Match Day

- Plan and deliver two structured training sessions per week.

- Implement a clear game plan and training program in alignment with WFC’s coaching group.

- Attend all PFL?scheduled matches for the Colts team and arrange suitable replacements if unavailable.

- Organise pre-season practice matches as required.

Leadership & Player Development

- Build a positive, competitive football environment aligned with WFC’s Player Charter.

- Nominate Assistant Coaches and Team Managers (subject to Committee approval).

- Appoint and develop team leadership roles (Captain & Vice-Captains).

- Ensure all players are informed, prepared, and appropriately presented for training, match days, and club functions.

Club Engagement

- Attend Thursday night team selection and Saturday post-match awards.

- Attend all coach meetings and liaise regularly with the Football Operations Manager and Executive Committee.

- Participate in club promotional and fundraising events as required.

- Provide weekly match summaries to the club’s marketing team for newsletters.

- Present season and pre-season reports as requested by the Committee.

Governance & Compliance

- Adhere to WFC’s Coach Code of Conduct and Player Charter.

- Maintain appropriate coaching accreditations (club-supported).

- Understand and apply PFL rules, including by-laws.

- Manage club equipment responsibly and comply with financial approval processes.

What We’re Looking For

- Strong leadership and communication skills.

- A passion for developing young players and building club culture.

- Ability to work collaboratively within a multi-team coaching structure.

- Sound football knowledge, tactical understanding, and planning ability.

- Previous coaching experience (preferred but not essential).

- Willingness to undertake coaching accreditation if required (costs subsidised by the club).
