Coolbinia Amateur Football Club stalwart Renard (Renny) Haslinger will celebrate his 300th amateur game this Saturday 19th May at Coolbinia Oval #2.
Haslinger, or as he is more affectionally known around the club as ‘Stimpy’ started his amateur career in 1994 at Redcliffe AFC (now Belmont Districts). In 1996, Stimpy moved across to Coolbinia pre-merger club Osborne Districts in what was a kick start for a long-playing career. Since then, Stimpy has been a mainstay for the Club, despite attempting to retire many times.
Some of Stimpy’s career highlights include finally breaking through for a Premiership in the 2016 thirds team, while some individual honours include a best and fairest at Redcliffe in 1994, runner up reserves best and fariest in 2004 and club leading goal kicker in Osborne Districts last year in 2002.
Many thought his career was over in 2015 when he suffered a serious broken arm, but to his credit Stimpy returned and ‘un-retired’ again.
When asked for a memorable story to reflect on, Stimpy simply replied that there were too many to choose from and it was just great to have played with so many good friends for such a long period of time at such a great club.
Stimpy will run out for the Coolbinia AFC thirds side against Quinn’s District at 2.30pm on Saturday.
The WAAFL congratulates Renard on his 300 game milestone.
