The Perth Football League is pleased to announce the appointment of Andrew Dawe as its Chief Executive Officer.
In his 15+ year involvement with the Perth Football League, Andrew has been a player over many seasons, coached a D grade team for several years, as well as serving on a club committee as a Football Director.
Andrew’s involvement in sports administration extends to a Leadership & Wellbeing role as part of Subiaco Football Club’s talent program and previously as Assistant Coach of the WACA State Under 17s and supporting various school and high-performance pathway cricket programs.
In his professional career, Andrew is an experienced Strategic Projects Manager coming from the Town of Victoria Park, where his role was focused on the redevelopment of Lathlain Park in partnership with a range of football and community stakeholders.
Andrew’s understanding of Perth Football League and the impact of each club within its community, coupled with his focus on partnerships, experiences working in and with Local Government Authorities and supporting major facility projects brings a unique and valuable skillset to benefit the League’s 71 member clubs.
Andrew has been active in the role for the last month and said he was honoured to be offered the position.
“Some of my fondest memories and experiences have come from my time involved with community football as an administrator, player, committee member and supporter.”
“From my first month in the role, I can see the importance the Perth Football League has on so many people in the community."
“I, along with the staff and board look forward to servicing the clubs to ensure that we continue to work together to grow the competition sustainably.”
“A key takeaway from my first month is that the League is in a really healthy space, this is evident from the substantial growth in the women’s competition and I feel like this is only going to get stronger in future.”
“There are some challenges going forward, clearly an all of football issue is the recruitment and retention of umpires."
"I’m looking forward to working with all stakeholders to assist in the development of an umpiring strategy and continuing to connect communities through our game."
