A Grade Men’s

Round 6 sees Curtin Uni Wesley face off against University, both teams sit around the middle of the ladder in A Grade, fighting to climb to the top spots.

Both teams started strong, with Curtin posting 2 goals and 3 behinds, while University kept pace with 2 goals and a behind. Curtin opened the second quarter with 3 behinds before University added their 2nd. Curtin then pushed ahead with their 3rd goal, but University responded with another behind. Curtin then added a behind and their fourth goal, University answered with a goal of their own. Curtin closed the quarter with a final behind, taking an 11-point lead into the main break, 32–21.

University came out with the 1st goal, but Curtin quickly responded with one of their own. The teams traded behinds before University, desperate for the win, secured their 5th goal. Curtin answered with 3 consecutive behinds, but University ended the quarter with their 6th goal, narrowing Curtin’s lead to just 2 points heading into the final quarter.

University struck 1st with a behind, before taking the lead with their 7th goal. Curtin fought back with 2 behinds, but University extended their lead with 3 more behinds and an 8th goal. In one final push, Curtin scored their 6th goal, but it wasn't enough to contend with University, and they took the match with a narrow 6-point lead

A Grade Women’s

North Fremantle and Curtin Uni Wesley go head-to-head in round 6 for the Women’s A grade. It was a fight for North Freo to climb the ladder, while Curtin fights to stay towards the top.
North Freo opened the scoring with a goal and a behind, but Curtin quickly answered with a goal of their own. In the final three minutes, Curtin added another goal and a behind to take a 6-point lead into the first break.

Curtin added early pressure with a behind, followed by another after a tight stalemate. In the final two minutes, North Freo broke through with a behind, but Curtin responded immediately with one of their own, taking a 16-8 lead into half-time.
Curtin opened the quarter with another early behind. After another tense stalemate, North Freo once again broke through with a goal from a free kick in the final four minutes.

Curtin struck first with a goal, but North Freo quickly answered with one of their own. A free kick gave Curtin an important behind, before North Freo added a final behind in the last 10 seconds to close out a tightly contested match.
Curtin Uni Wesley won the match by a narrow 3 points and secured themselves the 2nd position on the ladder, while North Fremantle sit at 6th.

C2 Grade Men’s

Round 6 in the Men’s C2 grade saw Quinns District up against Canning Vale. Quinns District ended the 2024 season 5th on the ladder in C2 grade, while Canning Vale ended up at the bottom of the ladder in C1, causing them to drop down to C2 for the 2025 season.
Canning Vale opened with an early behind, but Quinns quickly responded with two of their own before turning a free kick into the first goal. Riding the momentum, Quinns added three more goals. Canning Vale hit back with two quick goals, but Quinns extended their lead again in the final minutes. Canning Vale kept it tight, securing a late goal just before the siren.

Canning Vale struck first with a goal and a behind, levelling in points with Quinns. Quinns responded with a goal and two behinds before Canning Vale hit back again, closing the gap. Another Quinns goal kept them in front, but a late goal by Canning Vale in the final 30 seconds narrowed the margin to just one point at halftime, 46–45.

Quinns opened strong with an early goal, but Canning Vale quickly hit back and took the lead. The teams traded goals in a tense fight, with neither side giving in. Canning Vale pulled slightly ahead with a late goal and a pair of behinds, while a final behind from Quinns kept them within reach heading into the last quarter.

Quinns came out firing with 3 goals and 3 behinds, putting the pressure on Canning Vale. However, Canning Vale responded with 3 goals and a behind, and managed to secure a 3-point victory against Quinns district.
This round leaves Quinns District 2nd on the ladder for C2, while Canning Vale sit at 4th.
