Wembley, meanwhile, struggled to find their rhythm but didn’t waver. University added a behind to begin the 2nd quarter, before Wembley responded with their 1st goal of the game. After a brief stalemate, University closed out the 1st half with another behind, taking an 11-point lead into the halftime break.
University picked up right where they left off, opening the 3rd quarter with a goal. Wembley continued to fight for momentum, while University loaded on the pressure with 2 quick goals in just 2 minutes. They capped off a dominant quarter with their 6th goal. The final quarter saw University maintain their intensity, opening with 3 back-to-back behinds before adding another goal. Wembley managed a late behind, but University finished the match with a 7th goal, sealing a commanding 44-point victory.
Although Wembley seemed to struggle to find their rhythm during this match, they still sit at the top of the ladder. They will be desperate to regain their momentum if they wish to keep their top spot.
