The road to premiership glory is officially underway, with the 2025 PFL Finals Series lighting up Perth. Backed by Budget Car and Truck Rental as the Official Naming Rights Partner, the stage is set for the biggest month of the year as clubs shift into finals mode.
The action kicked off over the weekend with the Life Without Barriers Integrated Competition opening its finals campaign. In 2024, Willetton claimed the A Grade Integrated flag in a nail-biting finish, but this year the reigning premiers face an uphill battle to go back-to-back. Wins to Willetton, Kelmscott, and Curtin Uni Wesley have propelled them into this weekend’s semi-finals, with Willetton set for a blockbuster clash against ladder-leaders Kingsway.
The 2025 season has delivered no shortage of drama, momentum swings, and standout performances across all grades. The year began with major grade reshuffles: Swan Athletic earned promotion into B Grade, while Wembley and Mount Lawley dropped from A Grade, shaking up the competition. In C Grade, Kwinana, Gosnells, Ballajura, and Bassendean moved to C1, while Carlisle, Canning Vale, and Forrestdale adjusted to new levels in C2 and C3. On the women’s side, Trinity Aquinas and Scarborough battled their way into B Grade promotion.
As September looms, Kingsway again stand tall in A Grade Men’s, holding top spot and strong form. Curtin Uni Wesley, North Beach, and Fremantle CBC are also poised for deep finals runs, each hungry to dethrone the defending champions.
In B Grade, Mt Lawley have been near unstoppable with just one loss all season, making them the clear favourites. In C4, Kenwick have dominated with 16 wins, while in C5, Lynwood Ferndale and Coolbellup are locked in a thrilling race for top spot.
The A Grade Women’s competition promises a thrilling finish. Wembley, Baldivis, Curtin Uni Wesley, and Melville are set for qualifying finals, while the top-ranked University enjoy a first-week bye before their shot at a grand final berth. Over in B Grade, undefeated Trinity Aquinas remain firm at the summit, but Hamersley Carine, led by some of the league’s top goal kickers, is surging towards September.
The 2025 Budget PFL Finals Series runs from August 30, starting with the Life Without Barriers Integrated Grand Final, through to the Budget Women’s Grand Finals (6 September), Budget B–E Men’s Grand Finals (13 September), and the ultimate showdown, the Budget A Grade Men’s Grand Final on Friday, 20 September.
With the stage set and Budget powering the journey, it’s time to celebrate the players, the community, and the unforgettable moments ahead. Wear your colours, wave your scarves, and get ready, the 2025 Finals Series starts now!
