Partnerships Securing Top-Tier Finals Venues
A Grade Men’s, A Grade Women’s, and B Grade Men will headline the Budget Series Finals at HIF Health Insurance Oval in Joondalup, thanks to a new three-year partnership between the PFL and West Perth Football Club.
“The West Perth Football Club is excited to have secured a 3-year partnership with the Perth Football League to deliver the A Grade Women's and Men's finals as well as the B Grade Men's,” said West Perth Football Club CEO Joe McCarthy.
“The connection between community football and WAFL is a focus area of our club, and we believe this will strengthen these ties. We look forward to opening our great facility to the finalists and watching some high-quality football.”
In another exciting announcement, Swan Districts Football Club has committed to hosting the C1 Men’s, C1 Reserves, and Ian Dargie Colts at Steel Blue Oval in Bassendean for the next three years. This partnership will see some of the league’s most competitive grades battle it out on one of WA’s premier football surfaces.
The Road to Finals
We’ve seen some amazing matches this season with teams working hard to earn their positions on the ladder, but the season’s not over, and nothing is set in stone as they take the field across the next few weeks of finals. Here are some observations we’ve made heading into finals.
The Budget Car and Truck Rental A Grade Women’s comp has a tight point margin between several teams, making this season’s finals series anyone’s game and one to watch. North Freo in the Women’s A Reserves, Trinity Aquinas in B Women’s, and Ballajura in C2 Women’s all finished the home-and-away season undefeated – and with the A Grade Women’s Grand Final set to be played under lights, the race is on to see who earns the chance to shine on the big stage.
The Budget Car and Truck Rental A Grade Men’s comp is going to be intense over finals with many teams sitting on the same points, showing how close the competition really is and making it anyone’s game. Men’s B and B Reserves both have clear top-of the ladder holders, but top 8 isn’t set and there’s room for change.
Over in C1 Reserves, Kalamunda currently sits undefeated atop the ladder as of Round 17, as does Baldivis in C5 Reserves and Jandakot in E2 South Men! In C2, there are some impressive leading goal kickers who belong to teams in the tail-end of the top 8, and we’re watching them to see how they might turn the tide in finals.
EGT Colts have taken off this season with all six grades showcasing some exceptional emerging talent. In the Ian Dargie Colts, Kalamunda sits undefeated, as does Kingsley in the Laurie Keene Colts! Make sure to support all our up-and-coming players and the future of Perth football as they take to the field in finals.
Good luck to all the teams ahead of finals!
