The Life Without Barriers Grand Final weekend is upon us and it’s shaping up to be an outstanding day of football. The sun is predicted to be out in full force, as are the four teams taking to the field in back-to-back matches at Charles Riley Reserve on Saturday.
This year's Integrated Competition has seen some exceptional players and teams, with each division hosting seven teams who battled it out across fourteen rounds. With finals now over, we know which four teams are warming up to face off in the 2025 Life Without Barriers Grand Finals this weekend.
B Division – Fremantle CBC vs North Beach
12:10PM, Charles Riley Reserve, Free Entry
Fremantle CBC heads into this weekend’s grand final as the first team to qualify and the season's minor premiers. After a week's respite from playing finals, the team is ready to take on North Beach who knocked out University in a closely fought match over the weekend.
“I can confidently say this has been their [Fremantle] best season so far,” three-season coach Deklan Harvey said ahead of this weekend. “The way they have presented themselves out on the field this season is a true testament to how much work they have put in not just as a team but also individually.”
Fremantle qualified for the grand final after beating North Beach by two points in the second semi-final. North Beach wasn't ready to throw in the towel, defeating University in last weekend's preliminary to once again take on Fremantle CBC for a chance at the Premiership.
North Beach’s Integrated Team has grown immensely since being established in 2017, from 5 players in its first season to the 34-player squad now taking to the field in rotation – an incredible achievement for the club.
“2025 has been our best season by far,” said Claire Pieters, manager for the North Beach BuildNow Integrated Team. “In previous years, our best result was four wins, but something really clicked this year, and the group has taken their game and skills to a whole new level... and to now be in a Grand Final is a huge achievement for everyone.”
“The standout moments aren't just about what's happened on the field. It's been the impact of being part of the club as a whole – the respect shown to every player, the friendships formed, and the sense of belonging that North Beach Football Club has given these players and their families.”
Both North Beach FC and Fremantle CBC take these values into the weekend ahead, celebrating the achievements of the players, teams, clubs and families. With both teams having won against the other throughout the season, and having faced off earlier in finals, this grand final between Fremantle CBC and North Beach is the ultimate rematch.
From the Fremantle CBC bench, Kyron Timms, Zane Winn and Nick Rogerson have been named as three players who've shown incredible growth this season.
“Timms is incredibly reliable in our back and someone we can put into the middle field,” Harvey had to say. “Winn has developed exponentially this season, becoming a key player in the ruck and midfield.”
Meanwhile, Rogerson has been a season-consistent player and leader whose gameplay has helped secure some fantastic wins for the team.
“We're incredibly proud of the growth shown by every player on the team this season,” said Pieters on behalf of North Beach, noting that every player brings something to keep an eye on this Saturday. “The team has earned this chance, and we can’t wait for them to soak it all in – the atmosphere, the crowd, and the chance to play on the biggest stage of the season.”
First bounce for the B Division Grand Final is at 12:10PM at Charles Riley Reserve.
A Division – Kingsway vs Kelmscott
2PM, Charles Riley Reserve, Free Entry
The Kingsway versus Kelmscott A Division Integrated Grand Final is going to be a match to remember and will take place after the B Division Grand Final. Kingsway defeated Willetton during semi-finals and qualified for this weekend's grand final as the season's minor premiers.
“Our season so far has been incredible with the entire playing group embracing a real ‘family’ environment,” Kingsway Coach Dave Wright explained, “and whilst the season hasn’t been without its challenges… we definitely look forward to the opportunity to play in the Grand Final on Saturday afternoon.”
Kelmscott has earned its position in this weekend’s Grand Final, defeating High Wycombe then Curtin Uni Wesley in the first two rounds of finals with convincing wins. In an intense prelim against Willetton on the weekend, Kelmscott’s aggressive forwards and strong defence helped to knock last season’s Premiers out of finals, demonstrating why they’re deserving of an opportunity to take out this season’s premiership alongside Kingsway.
Whilst Kingsway has won the last two times these teams have faced off, Kelmscott’s convincing win-streak through finals has a momentum which will make Saturday’s match intense and a nail-biter.
From the Kelmscott bench, leading goal scorer Fraser Kickett is one to watch this Saturday alongside Daniel Harvey who captained the 2024 WA Inclusion Team. In the centre half-back, Trent Flemming has demonstrated great strength and is another player to keep an eye on.
Key players to watch out for from Kingsway include Alex Moshovis and Callum Bull, both having represented WA in the 2024 AFL Open. Matthew Iles, Kayden Rodgers and Vinnie Fraser have been great year-round players and are also expected to finish the season on a high this Saturday.
The A Division Grand Final is at 2:00PM at Charles Riley Reserve, following on from the B Division Grand Final.
