A crowd of 960 turned out in style for the Perth Football League’s 2025 Awards Night at Crown Perth on Monday, 8 September. The evening not only honoured the Fairest & Best players across the League’s 32 grades, but also shone a spotlight on the volunteers, coaches, umpires and clubs who continue to shape and drive the game forward.
Curtin Uni Wesley’s Chris Leonard capped off another outstanding season by claiming the CJ Jamieson Medal, awarded the Budget Car & Truck Rental Men’s A Grade Fairest & Best. Remarkably, this marks his third victory after wins in 2022 and 2023, polling 23 votes to edge out Ocean Ridge’s Clinton Hinchliffe on 20. Kingsway’s Braydn Furmark rounded out the top three with 18 votes.
In the women’s competition, Wembley’s Parris Laurie etched her name into the history books by completing a stunning three-peat. Dominating the count with 31 votes, Laurie added the 2025 Budget Car & Truck Rental A Grade Women’s Fairest & Best to her 2023 and 2024 triumphs, becoming the first player to achieve three consecutive titles.
The night also celebrated the outstanding contributions of umpires, with Amy Markusic making history as the first female to be crowned Field Umpire of the Year. Jason Tyrrell continued his impressive form, going back-to-back as Goal Umpire of the Year.
Off the field, Kalamunda were recognised with the Ron Webster Memorial Award as the Champion Senior Club, while University secured the TK Naylor Award as the Champion Colts Club. Mount Lawley’s Vice President, Dean Keighran, was named Administrator of the Year for his tireless efforts behind the scenes, and Kingsley’s Andrew Fisher was acknowledged as Coach of the Year.
