The 2025 Budget Perth Football League Finals Series delivered a spectacular weekend of women’s football across HIF Health Insurance Oval and Burrendah Reserve. With seven premierships decided from A Grade through to C4, the matches highlighted the depth, talent and resilience that have become hallmarks of women’s community football in Perth.

Crowds were treated to a mix of defensive battles, dominant displays and dramatic comebacks, with players stepping up on the biggest stage of the season. From University’s history-making victory in the first ever standalone A Grade Women’s Grand Final, to Swan Valley’s last quarter heroics in C2, the weekend captured the true spirit of the competition.

 

Budget Car and Truck Rental A Grade Women – University v Baldivis

The pinnacle of women’s football in the PFL was decided under lights at HIF Health Insurance Oval, where University secured a hard-fought win over Baldivis. Defence reigned early, with only behinds scored in the opening term before skipper Meg Brown broke through with a crucial goal in the second quarter. Brown was everywhere, finishing with 28 disposals and eight clearances, while Natasha Anderson and Talitha Valentine added important support around the contest. Tylor McIntosh sealed the win with a final quarter goal as University claimed the premiership 2.7 (19) to 0.2 (2). For Baldivis, Chloe Colegate stood tall with 24 touches, however Uni’s discipline and composure proved too strong.

 

Budget Car and Truck Rental A Reserves Women – North Fremantle v University

The A Reserves Grand Final was a genuine arm wrestle, with momentum shifting throughout the afternoon. University jumped ahead with two first quarter goals to Layla Tomljanovich, but North Fremantle responded through Abbey Green, who kicked two of her own and swung the game back in her side’s favour. Green finished as a match winner, supported by Tayla Bresland who booted a decisive final quarter goal. North Fremantle held on to triumph 3.6 (24) to 2.8 (20). Shelley Connor was outstanding with 15 disposals and 12 tackles, while Charlotte Grbin and Tomljanovich continued to battle hard for University.

 

Budget Car and Truck Rental B Grade Women – Trinity Aquinas v Hamersley Carine

Trinity Aquinas took control early and never let go, recording a convincing win over Hamersley Carine. Mia Schleicher and Jessica Schleicher both hit the scoreboard in the opening term, setting up a lead that was never surrendered. Abbey Waddell dominated with 29 disposals and a final quarter goal to seal the 4.6 (30) to 1.0 (6) victory, while Nadia Pisano was also prolific with 26 touches. For Hamersley Carine, Lauren Martin battled hard with 13 disposals and Caitlyn Minus laid eight tackles, but the sheer weight of possession from Trinity Aquinas was too much to overcome.

 

Budget Car and Truck Rental C1 Women – Kelmscott v Ocean Ridge

Kelmscott were too strong in the C1 decider, with Imahra Cameron kicking the opener and Summer Yarran adding two second-quarter goals to set up a 6.8 (44) to 1.3 (9) victory. Shaya Yarran (20 disposals, nine tackles), Anna-Shae Michael (25 touches, one goal) and Samantha Shepherd (21 disposals) led the way, while Taylor Evans provided drive from half back. Ocean Ridge’s Rebecca Galbraith kicked their only goal and Kayleigh Whitehead worked hard with 16 touches, but Kelmscott’s depth proved decisive.

 

Budget Car and Truck Rental C2 Women – Ballajura v Swan Valley

The C2 decider was one of the most dramatic of the weekend. Ballajura started strongly and led by 13 points at three quarter time, but Swan Valley surged home in a thrilling final term. Lauren Osborne starred with 30 disposals, while Hannah Stephens added 16 touches and intense tackling pressure. Chanel-Rose Jetta was the hero, kicking two last quarter goals to complete a stunning comeback as Swan Valley claimed the flag 5.4 (34) to 3.4 (22). Lola Hill was Ballajura’s best with 21 disposals, but the momentum shift proved unstoppable.

 

Budget Car and Truck Rental C3 Women – Bayswater v Kingsway

Bayswater set up their premiership with a dominant first half, with Chloe Sauzier, Amy Tremaine and Holly Davey all hitting the scoreboard to build a 20-point lead by the main break. Hayley Crute was superb with 26 disposals and 10 clearances, while Shannan Rene (21 touches) provided plenty of drive. Kingsway’s Bree Wagner kicked their only goal and Linda Holland worked hard with 16 disposals, but Bayswater’s depth and early scoreboard pressure proved decisive in a 3.5 (23) to 1.1 (7) win.

 

Budget Car and Truck Rental C4 Women – Manning Rippers v Ellenbrook

The C4 Grand Final was a see-sawing battle with momentum shifts throughout. Ellenbrook led early through the efforts of Courtney West, who kicked her side’s only goal and was dangerous all day. Manning found their rhythm in the second term through Amber Goodwin-Wissink, who gathered 33 disposals and kicked truly to put her side in front. The final quarter was tense until Safie Matthews kicked the sealer, giving Manning a hard-fought 2.7 (19) to 1.4 (10) win. Elise Walker also impressed for the Rippers with 16 touches, while Tamia Mippy worked tirelessly for Ellenbrook with 18 disposals.

Across HIF Health Insurance Oval and Burrendah Reserve, the seven Grand Finals underlined the depth and strength of women’s football in the Perth Football League.
