Men’s Reserves, E2 North and E2 South Players to Watch
You’ve seen them take to the field across eighteen rounds this season, now it’s time to watch them do it once more in the 2025 Budget Car and Truck Rental Men’s B-E Grand Final Weekend!
Forty-two teams will play across seven venues in twenty-one epic grand final matches in what will be a Saturday to remember. We reached out to all the clubs to find out who they think you should keep an eye on in every match this weekend, and here’s what they had to say about their Men’s B-E Reserves, and E2 North and E2 South teams!
Men’s B Reserves: Swan Athletic vs Mount Lawley
HIF Health Insurance Oval (Joondalup), 12:15PM, $20 Entry
From the Swan Athletic bench, Vice-Captain and hard-running wingman Nick Nott, former Swan Athletic Fairest and Best winner Bill Waideman, and speedy half-forward Sam Hodgkin have been named as three players to watch.
“Nott will look to lead his side to victory after missing out on a chance at premiership glory last year,” Swan Athletic Football ClubPresident Lee Nash explained. “Waideman has put together another stellar season down back and has been miserly towards his opposition, barely conceding a goal all year. Hodgkin is putting together a strong finish to 2025 and will look to cap I off with the ultimate success.”
From Mount Lawley, Captain Chris Barlow has been named as one to watch alongside players Cameron Glass and Jayden Webb. Barlow is renowned for his reliability and solid defence, Glass for his high impact on the ground and for getting the job done, and Webb’s silky-smooth gameplay makes him speedy and dangerous when going for the mark.
Men’s C1 Reserves: Jandakot vs Kalamunda
Blue Steel Oval (Bassendean), 12:15PM, $15 Entry
From the Kalamunda bench, Captain and solid defender Chase Manfield, top utility player Giacomo Paduano, and reliable winger and small forward Curtis Jack have been named as three players to watch.
From Jandakot, players Callum McGuinness, Nick Burrows and Charlie Morgan have been named as ones to watch.
“McGuinness had a stellar year, setting the example for the team from the half-backline and will be all in for a big game,” said Jandakot Jets Senior Football Club Registrar David Morgan. “Burrows has had an extremely consistent season… he is a dangerous small forward notching up an impressive 24 goals from his 20 games. Morgan had a consistent year being promoted for a couple of league games. Not the biggest ruckman going around, he catches his opponents off-guard with a gazelle-like leap.”
Men’s C2 Reserves: Kingsley vs Forrestdale
Revo Fitness Stadium (Claremont), 12:15PM, $15 Entry
Josh ‘Newy’ Newman, Craig ‘Scoffo’ Scoffern, and Nick Armour are three Kingsley players to look forward to watching this Saturday.
“Newman is the C2 Reserves [2025] Best and Fairest winner for a reason,” said Kingsley Amateur Football Club Vice-President Ashleigh-Jade Cox. “Captain for a reason, he brings his teammates along for the ride and sets the tone with the way he puts his head over it all day.”
Scoffern, last season’s C2 Reserves Best and Fairest winner, is a dominant ruck known for taking big grabs and fighting for the ball all game. Armour, described as one of the “best interceptors in the competition”, is a player who always positions himself in the right spot, takes intercepting marks, and starts the rebound and transition back the other way.
From the Forrestdale bench, players Stevie Farmer, Greg Row and Kaiden Miller are ones to keep an eye on.
“Farmer is a great club and family man who can play both forward and in defence,” said Forrestdale Football Club President Marika Glover. As the reigning club Best and Fairest, he’s known for getting around it, especially for the big games like this weekend’s Grand Final.
“Row flies under the radar but is super important to the team… has great speed and skill, goes hard all day and leaves nothing in the tank. Miller has shown his ability all season in Colts and the senior sides and is a huge player of the future for Forrestdale!”
Men’s C3 Reserves: University vs Coolbinia
Richard Guelfi Reserve (Balcatta), 1:00pm, $15 Entry
From University, Charlie Lennon, Oscar Martella and Greg Erskine are three to watch according to University Coach Alex White.
“Lennon is a rebounding backman with a damaging kick and great intercepting ability,” White explained. “Martella is an outside mid who runs both wats and has a lethal step on him. Erskine is an up and coming forward with lightning pace.”
From Coolbinia, David Wilson, Tom Shead and Luke Berendsen have been named as three to keep an eye on.
“Wilson [is] the definition of a steadying influence and a true big game player,” Coolbinia Amateur Football Club President Brock Wilson had to say. “With over 300 games of experience and multiple premiership medals to his name, he brings a wealth of composure and leadership to the field.”
“Shead is a hard-running midfielder whose clean hands and relentless work rate make him a key link in Coolbinia’s ball movement. Berendsen is a genuine scoreboard threat and Coolbinia’s most dangerous forward, having kicked ten goals in the past month alone. His goal sense and ability to create scoring opportunities under pressure make him a nightmare for opposition defenders.”
Men’s C4 Reserves: Mount Lawley vs Curtin Uni Wesley
Burrendah Reserve (Willetton), 12:15PM, $15 Entry
From Curtin Uni Wesley, the team’s seasoned expert and solid defender Adam Spurling, creative wingman Scott O’Reilly, and hard-working half-forward Campbell Spalding, have been named as players to look out for.
Off the Mount Lawley bench, football savant Brad Johns, tenacious in-and-under midfielder Jeremey Evans, and impactful all-round-the-grounder Storm Zitman have been named as three to watch.
Men’s C5 Reserves: Baldivis vs SNESA
Gosnells Oval (Gosnells), 12:15PM, $15 Entry
From Baldivis, nippy small forward Lachie Brayne, outside ball winner and creative wingman Damon Close, and ruckman Brody Faccioni have been named as three players to watch.
Off the SNESA bench, Captain Cal Butler and senior players Justin Baptist and Kyle Beattie are ones to keep an eye on. These three players are keen to earn their first flag after playing for the Saints for a combined 49 years and 730 games.
E2 North Men: Kingsley vs Scarborough
Richard Guelfi Reserve (Balcatta), 10:45PM, $15 Entry
From Scarborough, former Fairest and Best winner and all-year dominator through the middle Lachlan Holt, “big, tall and strong Irishman” ruck James Daly, and “loose as a cut snake” hard ball winner and midfielder Wes Coats have been named as ones to watch by Scarbrough Amateur Football Club Coach Jacob Shepherd.
From Kingsley, Stefan ‘Spook’ Piruk, Josh McPhee, and Thomas ‘Tommy-O’ O’Connor are three players to watch.
“Piruk rarely loses a 1-on-1,” said Kingsley Amateur Football Club Vice-President Ashleigh-Jade Cox, “defending like his life depends on it while often playing undersized. McPhee is silky, smooth, yet so powerful with a booming kick and his ability to break tackles. Tough as nails and kicks like a mule, [O’Connor] is the ultimate competitor and a great teammate.”
E2 South Men: Jandakot vs Bullcreek Leeming
Gil Fraser Reserve (North Freamntle), 10:45AM, $15 Entry
From Bullcreek Leeming, Adrian Tibbs, Jade Felsch and Colin Martelli have been named by Bullcreek Leeming Amateur Football Club Coach Chris Boyes.
“Marshalling the backline will be Adrian Tibbs, with his direction and leadership crucial to shutting down the opposition’s dangerous forwards,” Boyes explained. “A no-nonsense character, Tibbs will put his head over the ball and his body on the line, using his hard to move frame to advantage at the contest.”
“The midfield hunt and grunt will be led by Jade Felsch whose rugby background personifies his aggression and attack on both the ball and the opponent. Up forward, Colin Martelli will be handful. Deceptively quick on the lead and strong one on one, with a safe pair of hands and an accurate shot on goal, Martelli will be a key target in the front half.”
Captain James Dodd and players Todd Brown and Alex Metselaars have been named as three Jandakot players to watch this Saturday.
“As team Captain, Dodd has shown great leadership on and off the field,” said Jandakot Jets Senior Football Club Registrar David Morgan. “He has led by example all year and has had a terrific season.”
“A long time Jandakot player, Brown consistently plays across the backline where he has a strong influence on the game. Another consistent year from a Jandakot stalwart [Metselaars], having played over 200 games for the club and [he] will cherish the opportunity on game day.”
