North Beach were the standout performers of the round, putting on a clinical display to dismantle Ocean Ridge by 57 points. The Tigers’ strength at the contest and ability in the air showed up Ocean Ridge, converting 13 inside 50 marks and kicking true, with Tom Lang leading the way with 5 goals, and Joey Deegan adding 3 goals and relentless forward pressure with 8 forward 50 tackles. Frank Anderson was at his usual best, starting important passing chains with 33 disposals, along with Kai Marchetto, 22 disposals and 8 tackles in the midfield. Ocean Ridge showed promise in patches as Brodie Matthew Gray put in another massive performance with 41 disposals, 11 tackles, and 12 clearances alongside Liam Dellamarta’s 33 disposals. But in the end, North Beach’s efficiency with the ball and relentless pressure was too much.

Kingsway proved too strong for Baldivis, winning 92–63 in a game that was decided by efficiency rather than territory. Kingsway’s Brayden Naylor was solid in the ruck, notching up 35 hit outs as Kingsway controlled stoppages and won the clearance battle 40 to 26, helping them create chances on goal. Lachlan Vanirsen was outstanding for Kingsway with 31 disposals and five clearances. Koby Fullgrabe played a pivotal role in moving the ball out of Kingsway’s defensive 50, allowing players like Tyler Senge and Lachlan O’Keefe to move the ball into dangerous positions. Baldivis’s Ethan Gration and Darnell Grech were solid across the ground when pitted against a tough midfield, while Byron Finch and Benjamin Otto put up a valiant effort, kicking 3 goals each, despite Kingsway excelling in cutting off time or space inside 50 for Baldivis.

Curtin Uni Wesley produced a highly efficient and pressure-driven performance to defeat Mt Lawley 79–54. Mt Lawley controlled periods of possession through handball chains and stoppages, but Curtin Uni Wesley’s direct ball movement, aerial dominance and forward-half pressure proved decisive. Curtin Uni Wesley took 41 more marks, while also laying 20 more tackles and forcing 14 extra forward-half turnovers, converting their opportunities far more efficiently at 63% accuracy compared to Mt Lawley’s 36%. Curtin Uni Wesley’s Kyle Hamersley was best on ground with 31 disposals and 9 clearances, controlling stoppages and driving their midfield dominance. Simon Hayward was also crucial with 26 disposals, 10 marks, 8 tackles and 2 goals, providing strong defensive pressure while directly turning turnovers into scoring opportunities. For Mt Lawley, Jack Zagar stood out with 2 goals, 7 marks and 5 tackles, as well as Taylor North, who worked tirelessly in defence, coming out on top in one-on-one situations despite sustained pressure. Curtin Uni Wesley now looks to round 6 replay of the 2025 Budget Car and Truck Rental A Grade Men’s Grand Final against North Beach, with recent history providing the backdrop for a hotly contested matchup that could mean a lot later down the line.

The closest game of the round saw University hold on to beat Trinity Aquinas by 12 points, 92–80. University's superior marking — 86 to 53 —allowed them to dictate terms through the corridors, while Trinity Aquinas worked hard to stay in touch through efficient ball use and quality at groundball contests. University's ability to find space and score from turnovers — converting 10 turnovers into 67 points — ultimately proved the difference. Cyrus Upson was University's best with 26 disposals and eight clearances, and Charlie Carrington-Jones and Kellen Johnson were dominant up forward with 5 goals each. On the other side of the ground, Trinity Aquinas’s Ryan Vermeersch matched them up forward, kicking 5 goals. Matthew Rodan highlighted Trinity Aquinas’s spirit throughout with 23 disposals and 10 clearances, along with Keeshawn Cook, who put up 17 disposals and 6 clearances. Round 6 presents a key opportunity for ladder movement for both sides, with Trinity Aquinas expected to challenge a struggling Scarborough, while University take on Mt Lawley in a match they’ll be expected to win. With the other top-four contenders facing each other, the round opens up a chance for the two sides to capitalise.

Fremantle CBC remain top of the Budget Car and Truck Rental A Grade men's after a comprehensive performance to defeat Scarborough 126–46. Dillon O’Reilly led the way with 6 goals, supported strongly by Cody Smith with 4, while Taj Forrest marked his first league appearance of the season with a goal after stepping up from EGT Phil Scott Colts. Fremantle CBC face a difficult challenge in keeping their top spot of the Budget Car and Truck Rental A Grade men’s when they travel to Kingsway, a side just as well-known as CBC for their attacking prowess.

Curtin Uni Wesley pulled off a stunning comeback against Trinity Aquinas on Pink Tiger Day to win 36–34. After being behind for most of the match, Curtin Uni Wesley remains the only undefeated side in the competition. Four points down in the dying embers of the last quarter, Larissa Versaci laid a big tackle, catching Trinity Aquinas holding the ball after putting on immense forward pressure all game. Versaci went back to slot it for the win and set Curtin Uni Oval alight. Big performances from Trinity Aquinas's Mia and Jess Schleicher, and debutant Jorja Haines coming in from Perth, were solid in the battle against a hardworking Curtin Uni Wesley side with players like Versaci, Skye Elliott and Leanne Gubbins really stepping up for their side to take them over the line.

Wembley delivered a dominant four-quarter performance to defeat Hamersley Carine 81–12, using relentless pressure and slick ball movement to wear their opponents down. Wembley controlled territory from the outset, locking the ball inside its forward half and forcing repeated turnovers. Their attacking system — flooding numbers forward and running hard beyond the contest — proved too much for Hamersley Carine to contain. Phoebe Coulthard put in her best performance of the season so far, kicking 4 goals, while Parris Laurie was at her usual best, leading Wembley’s high press. Lucy Houghton impressed in her first game since Round 1 last season, helping drive clearances and setting up goals in a side that has a system that entertains and wins so effectively. Wembley’s system will be tested when they host Trinity Aquinas in what shapes as the best match of Round 6 in the Budget Car and Truck Rental A Grade Women’s.

University also kept pace with the leading pack after a complete team performance earned them a commanding 55–3 win over a struggling Melville. University is now fourth on the ladder alongside Trinity Aquinas and Wembley, all on four wins and one loss.

Baldivis secured an important 31–9 victory over Quinns District, keeping Baldivis within reach of the top five, after a difficult run of results for the Brumbies. Quinns District host Hamersley Carine in round 6, as they continue to knock on the door of the top four. Form suggests Quinns District are favourites, but Hamersley Carine have shown enough quality this season to make it a contest.

North Beach claimed a 2-point win, edging North Fremantle 29–27 in a tense clash at Charles Riley Reserve with Amalie Moe kicking the crucial goal to send the Tigers over the line for their first win of the season. Going into round 6, North Fremantle face a difficult game when they host Baldivis, while North Beach face an even more challenging contest when they travel to play University.

Cockburn Lakes' unbeaten run came to an end against North Fremantle, the scores finishing up 104–51. The game was much closer than the scoreline suggested until the fourth quarter, when North Fremantle kicked six unanswered goals. It was a familiar pattern for a side that has proven to be late-game specialists this season.

The Swan Athletic and Whitford blockbuster match-up lived up to expectations. Whitford started strong in the first quarter, leading by three goals and dominating the contest, but Swan Athletic would not go away. Jack Lawson, third goal for the day, levelled it up for Swan Athletic, but two goals from Whitford in the last 10 minutes put the game to bed. Joshua McElwee’s inclusion from Subiaco was huge in Swan Athletic’s fight against the top spot, kicking twice on his season debut, but in the end losing out to a tough side to crack. Swan Athletic will face another big test in round 6 when they take on Cockburn Lakes, with the two looking to separate themselves from the congested top half of the ladder.

Brentwood Booragoon bounced back in a big way after their huge loss to Whitford last week, with the doggies smashing Bullcreek Leeming 108–31 to move back into fourth. Parker Doncon led the scoring with 5 goals in a complete team effort for Brentwood Booragoon, as Jaxon Smith, Jackson Edgar and Adam Svilicich all kicked a goal on their 50th game to make it a day to remember.

West Coast came from behind at halftime to get the job done, defeating Kalamunda 89–66. West Coast’s partnership of William Stacy and Dylan Pettingill, combining for 9 goals, was enough for the win, but Kalamunda‘s Tyler Mouritz took best on ground with 6 goals, continuing his superb goalscoring form, taking his total to 12 goals in just 3 games. Kalamunda have shown they can compete with the top teams, but whether they can get over the line is the question. They will again have the chance to answer that question when they host a quality Brentwood Booragoon in round 6.

Collegians finally claimed their first win against Melville 100–75, leaving Melville as the only side yet to win this season. There have been silver linings across the season for Melville, and round 5 was no different. Kicking 12 goals and just 3 behinds, the Rams showed their efficiency in front of goal is starting to come together. Thomas McGrath continued his top form, kicking 4 goals for Melville, while Luke Brown opened his season account with 4 for Collegians.

Kwinana’s matchup against first-place Scarborough ended in a thrilling draw, in one of the games of the season. The game was back and forth throughout, with Scarborough headed into the fourth quarter with a two-goal lead, looking to close it out. But Kwinana wasn’t done, debutant Kate Ried and Tayla McKay kicking two crucial final-quarter goals while the side restricted the league leaders to just a single point as the game finished 27–27.

Swan Athletic continued their strong form with a commanding 62–14 victory over Rossmoyne, the win lifting Swan Athletic from third into second on the ladder. Swan Athletic’s inclusion of Amalie Lawrie from East Perth continues to pay dividends, with Lawrie booting three goals in another influential display.

The round 5 results leave Ocean Ridge, Bullcreek Leeming and Kelmscott all level on points in a tightly packed middle section of the ladder. Ocean Ridge cemented their place in fourth thanks to a strong percentage made stronger after their 37-point win over Warnbro. Bullcreek Leeming aren’t far behind after producing one of the most dominant performances of the round, holding Piara Waters scoreless in a comprehensive 76–0 victory at Beasley Reserve.

Kelmscott bounced back from their 120-point loss to Scarborough in round 4 with a 49–20 win over Collegians. Kelmscott’s Ashley McHenry starred with 3 goals, while Jade Edmonds opened her account for the season with 2 goals. Bullcreek Leeming and Kelmscott will face off in round 6 in the most even contest of the round, which will be an opportunity to put down an early bid on a final spot finish.

Budget Car and Truck Rental C1 Men

First-place Wanneroo made light work of Jandakot, running out 87-point winners to remain the only unbeaten side in the competition. Wanneroo have established a significant buffer at the top of the table with a 319 percentage, double that of the next highest, the Roos look every bit like a premiership contender. Wanneroo's round 6 match against Kwinana, who sit 4th with one loss all season, and are currently coming off a 58-point win against Mosman Park, will be a major test for the Roos. Wanneroo will need to keep a close eye on Joshua Elphick, the C1 equal top goalkicker, who kicked 8 goals in Kwinana's win over Mosman Park.

Cockburn Cobras broke their three-game losing streak with a 32-point win over Forrestdale. Cockburn Cobras Royce Evans and Cameron Santaromita both kicked 3 goals on their 2026 league debuts. The result lifted the Cobras to sixth on the ladder, while Forrestdale remain in eighth with one win for the season.

Wembley continued their four-game winning streak over bottom-placed Quinns District 87–47, with Josh Richards kicking 5 goals for the second game in a row. Quinns showed promise in the third quarter, fighting to make it a three-goal game before Wembley shut the door in the fourth, kicking 3 goals that went unanswered. Looking to round 6, Quinns District have the opportunity to register their first win of the season when they play Mosman Park, who haven’t won since round 1.

Thornlie remain second on the ladder, keeping pace with the top teams after defeating Hamersley Carine by 28 points. Thornlie’s aerial dominance and clean finishing made the difference on the day, with the side kicking 10 goals from their first 11 shots on goal. Hamersley Carine worked hard through their handball game and won plenty of the ground balls, but poor kicking under pressure and Thornlie's sharp intercept game repeatedly handed the visitors easy transition opportunities. Thornlie Captain Bailey Smith was immense in the air all afternoon, slotting 2 goals alongside five other players in a complete forward line performance. Four late goals in the fourth quarter from Hamersley Carine gave the scoreboard some respectability and will be important to their percentage. Hamersley Carine will travel to Wembley in round 6, looking to keep in top 4 contention, against another tough opponent. Thornlie, meanwhile, will look to strengthen their charge towards the top of the ladder when they travel to Forrestdale.
