Perth Football League Business Lunch Celebrates WA Football Community Thu, May 21, 2026 - 3:45 PM

The Perth Football League Business Lunch brought together the clubs, partners, sponsors and wider football community that make the PFL one of the most successful and largest amateur football leagues in the country.

The day was a fitting celebration of what the league has achieved, while also looking ahead to the heights it aims to reach.

Guest speakers read like a who’s who of WA sporting royalty, each taking to the podium to share stories and insights with attendees. AFL icon, Brownlow Medallist and premiership-winning Eagles captain Ben Cousins kicked things off with stories from his playing days.

Jess Anstiss, captain of the West Coast Fever and a 2022 premiership player, discussed the lessons she has learnt around leadership throughout her highly successful netball career. Former AFL and WAFL player and newly appointed WA Football CEO Brad Wira closed the presentations by outlining a collective vision for a bright future for WA football.

Beyond the presentations, attendees took the opportunity to network with clubs, partners and all those vital to maintaining the high standard seen across WA local football. Against the picturesque backdrop of the Swan River from Optus Stadium’s ballrooms, the major raffle prize — a sports winter collection provided by major event partner Belgravia Apparel — was awarded to Willetton, helping the club celebrate its 50th anniversary in style.

Altogether, the live auction, raffles and ticket sales raised just under $20,000, with all proceeds supporting the WA All Abilities Football Association.

The Perth Football League would also like to extend a special thank you to major event partner Belgravia Apparel for their support in helping bring the event to life.

The Perth Football League would like to express its deepest gratitude to everyone who attended the lunch and to the clubs, volunteers, partners and supporters whose unwavering commitment continues to strengthen the WA football community week after week.
