Fremantle CBC extended their grip at the top of the table with a controlled 45-point win over Ocean Ridge, 91–46, in a match that showcased exactly why they are the team to beat in 2026. CBC's clearance dominance was decisive — winning the contest 38 to 20, including a commanding 15–7 advantage at centre bounces — and they converted that midfield supremacy into 42 inside 50s to Ocean Ridge's 32. Jake Austin was at his devastating best from the opening bounce, peeling off the pack, taking massive marks and dominating at ground level, finishing with 5 goals and 2 assists. It was a performance that won Austin the PFL’s first Jax Tyres & Auto Player of the Week award, as he continues to play beyond the expectations of a player straight out of Colts. Matt Ward was the engine room behind it all with 27 disposals, 10 clearances, 7 turnovers and 6 goal involvements. CBC scored 8 goals directly from turnovers, reflecting a team that capitalises ruthlessly when they force the issue, but the reality was CBC were just too effective in every aspect of the game, realising early on that Ocean Ridge couldn’t keep up with them in the air. Small lapses of concentration from CBC in the second half were pounced on by Ocean Ridge to valiantly string together some great passages of play with Brodie Matthew Gray working tirelessly with 36 disposals and 11 clearances, alongside Liam Dellamarta with 31 disposals, but the injury-stricken Eagles were too late to put goals on the scoreboard, not helped by the fact that they had to go through Lachlan Turley who was a brick wall along the 50 metre arc with 21 disposals, 6 intercept possessions and 4 intercept marks out of 10 marks for the day.

Kingsway bounced back from their round 6 defeat to CBC with a 36-point win over Trinity Aquinas, under the floodlights in a bit of Friday night footy. It was a tale of two halves — Trinity Aquinas held a 3-point lead at the main break, before Kingsway flipped the contest on its head and took control. Kingsway’s ability to make the most of their turnovers, scoring 10 goals and 5 behinds from that source alone, proved the decisive factor despite Trinity Aquinas winning the clearance count 41–36. Trinity Aquinas just couldn't seem to move effectively in transition. While their pressure was non-stop, Kingsway showed great composure on and off the ball, absorbing pressure and playing to their game; owning the territory, sticking their tackles and hitting their targets. Kingsway’s Lachlan Vanirsen was outstanding with 30 disposals and 10 clearances, and Braydn Furmark was a genuine match-winner with 4 goals and 4 assists from 15 disposals. Keeshawn Cook kept Trinity Aquinas competitive through the middle, showing real grit with 7 tackles, 13 contested possessions, and 7 clearances alongside players like Alexander Moreno, 7 intercept possessions, 6 rebound 50s and 18 disposals.

North Beach delivered a 69-point demolition of Mt Lawley, 108–39, in a display that was close to complete. Alexander Marklew was one of the efforts of the round with 16 disposals, 6 deep inside 50 marks and 11 goal involvement, bagging 5 goals of his own to take him top of the goalscoring ladder, with Justin Prior not far behind on the day, kicking 4 goals. Lachlan Macrae was enormous through the middle with 6 goal involvements and 23 disposals. Joey Deegan was equally impressive, hovering on his forward 50 arc, forcing 6 turnovers from 6 tackles and producing 9 goal involvements in a complete North Beach performance. North Beach's 43 inside 50s to Mt Lawley's 19 on top of the Tigers' 18 forward 50 tackles reflected their unwillingness to let Mount Lawley breathe and their relentless hunger for more goals and better performances.

University accounted for Scarborough by 44 points, 74–30. University played a high defensive line that prevented Scarborough from putting together consistent forward momentum for long enough to compete with them, owning the midfield and controlling the forward-half territory, to lock the ball inside 50 and create repeat clear scoring opportunities that they made count. University’s Alex Donaldson at the centre of it all with 31 disposals and 7 rebound 50s, Kalib Dempster Park played an equally important role with 8 pressure acts, 7 goal involvements and 27 disposals. Bryn Robilliard worked hard for Scarborough with 7 tackles and 4 chases, the most from any player on the day. Still, the visitors couldn't generate any meaningful scoreboard pressure from within the little space when they had the ball, kicking 3 goals to 13 behinds.

Bottom of the ladder and without a win, Baldivis came inches away from pulling off the upset of the season, leading against Curtin Uni Wesley for most of the game before falling agonisingly short in the final quarter, 81–84. The Brumbies played a hard-running, hard-hitting brand of football that repeatedly shut down the passages of play Curtin Uni Wesley create so well through their midfield, winning the tackle count 49–33. Baldivis got 21 rebound 50s to Curtin Uni Wesley's 12 and forced more turnovers than they conceded, a remarkable achievement against a side whose ball movement is among the competition's best. Where Curtin Uni Wesley proved the difference was in converting the opportunities, scoring 5 goals and 5 behinds directly from turnovers to Baldivis's 2 goals despite the Brumbies generating more turnovers. The movement inside 50 was too much, finishing with 5 goals from 5 deep inside 50 marks to Baldivis's 0 from 1. Kade Stewart was Curtin Uni Wesley's best with 20 disposals and 6 clearances, while for Baldivis, Jack Atkins and Jack Mathey were tireless contributors in a game that could’ve easily gone their way.

After this long weekend bye, the standout fixture for round 8 sees Fremantle CBC host North Beach at Morris Buzacott Reserve — a collision between the first and second, with CBC's midfield efficiency and North Beach's forward-half pressure setting up what could be a genuine classic. Trinity Aquinas hosts Curtin Uni Wesley at Bill Grayden Reserve in a match that would be massive for Trinity Aquinas if they could get the win, with both sides capable of winning convincingly on their best day. University hosts Ocean Ridge at UWA Sports Park in a game University will be strong favourites to control, while Scarborough hosts Kingsway at Millington Oval. Baldivis host Mt Lawley at the Baldivis District Sporting Complex to round out the round — a match that offers both sides an opportunity to build some much-needed momentum after difficult recent weeks.

University dismantled Baldivis 62–1 in the most one-sided result of the round. University held control of the stoppages and the territory throughout with a 62–9 hitout advantage, and 33 inside 50s to 8 Baldivis, denying the Brumbies a mark inside for the entire match. Tarnica Stewart was again the University's standout with 27 disposals and 5 clearances, while Katie Croston was outstanding with 20 disposals and 3 goals. For Baldivis, the stat sheet reflects a difficult afternoon — but Kelsey Timms, Sara Sammons and Holly Coomey each showed enough individual fight to give their coach something to work with heading into round 8.

Curtin Uni Wesley survived a genuine Wembley scare to extend their unbeaten start, winning 25–20 in a contest between established premiership success and recent success in which neither side was willing to give the other an inch. Wembley generated 33 inside 50s to Curtin's 16 and won the clearance count 32–27 — against another side that may have resulted in more goals than they got, but Curtin Uni Wesley suffocated the ball back into their hands with numbers at every contest, voiding Wembley of an easy chance at goal all day. With five personnel changes, including the absence of their second-top goalscorer, Emily Pickett and the reliable Lucy Yokwe, Curtin Uni Wesley needed their big game players to step up, and they did. Leanne Gubbins was unstoppable out of the contest, 20 disposals, 2 assists, 8 clearances and 8 turnovers in a complete performance around the ground. Claire Roocke was also instrumental in the win, 14 intercept possessions and 17 disposals being the final line of defence Wembley struggled to get past. Torrens Revell kicked 2 goals, including a crucial final-quarter major when the game was on the line. Lucy Houghton played her 50th game for Wembley, an impressive milestone matched by the performance, kicking a goal while getting 18 disposals and 6 turnovers. Parris Laurie was, as usual, outstanding for Wembley with 21 disposals and 5 clearances, causing some real problems for Curtin Uni Wesley in the back end of the game.

North Beach took the win against Melville 36–23 in a tight contest decided in the last quarter. North Beach's game plan was defined by high pressure, as the Tigers put up 50 pressure acts to Melville's 27, converting their opportunities on the scoreboard. Siénna Joubert was North Beach's best with 20 disposals and 5 turnovers, while Isabella Strnadica was superb for Melville with 30 disposals and 7 clearances, which nearly proved enough for the Rams, who are getting closer to the elusive first win.

Trinity Aquinas ran out convincing 45–7 winners over Quinns District, keeping the visitors scoreless until late in the final quarter. Trinity Aquinas’ Montana Turnbull opened her season's account with 2 quick goals in the first term to set the tone.

North Fremantle made it back-to-back strong performances with a 69-point demolition of Hamersley Carine, 79–10. North Fremantle’s Tayla Bresland and Ava Ritchie kicked 3 goals each, as their new teammate, former East Fremantle player Laura Catherine, marked her return to football with a goal. Even though they didn’t get the win, Hamersley Carine were still celebrating Amy Hunt, who played her 150th game, a huge milestone for a club mainstay that has given so much to the side over the years.

Round 8 delivers the most evenly match games yet, as Curtin Uni Wesley take on North Fremantle a side more then capable of toppling the favourites. The highlight has to be Trinity Aquinas versus University, both sides with one loss each, a win could be the difference between second and third come September, given the standards both sides are able to keep throughout a season. Quinns District travel to Wembley, both sides only separated by percentage. The new kids on the block, Quinns District, have a mountain to climb in Wembley, but as we’ve seen already with their performance against a quality side like North Fremantle, they're more than capable of an upset on their day.

A milestone moment headlined the clash between Brentwood Booragoon and Collegians, with Bulldogs co-captain Luke Rule playing his 100th game and marking the occasion with a goal alongside co-captain Jack Redman. Parker Doncon extended his remarkable streak of a goal in every game he has played this season as Brentwood Booragoon held on to win by 12 points. Marking another near-win for Collegians, their second consecutive loss by two goals or less, even with Bailey van der Struyf's 3 goals, it was not quite enough.

North Fremantle got the better of West Coast by 18 points, 90–72, with a dominant third quarter the decisive passage for North Fremantle, kicking 3 goals, 4 behinds and holding West Coast to just 2 behinds. West Coast found their rhythm again in the final quarter, but by then, North Fremantle were too confident to lose. An impressive ten individual goal kickers reflected the spread of North Fremantle's attack, with Josh Branchi and Ethan Paholski each kicking 2.

Whitford maintained their unbeaten run with a 12-point win over Cockburn Lakes, 77–65, as Jay Cutler extended his lead atop the goalkicking charts with 3 goals to take his season tally to 19. Cockburn Lakes' Jaxsen Shinners and Tristan Curovic each kicked 3 goals, in a team performance that had the league leaders sweating.

Kalamunda continued their resurgence with a 23-point win over Bullcreek Leeming, 63–40, making it three wins from their last four. A dominant opening quarter from Kalamunda set the tone, with Bullcreek Leeming only able to grab the lead for 5 minutes for the entire match. Tyler Mouritz kept his goalkicking form going, leading Kalamunda with 3 goals alongside 2 goals from Michael De Gasperis, while Bullcreek Leeming couldn’t seem to put it between the big sticks.

Swan Athletic survived a Melville scare to win by just 5 points, 88–83, in one of the more heartbreaking results of the round for the winless Rams. At the forefront of the spirited Melville performance were Matthew Nicholas and youngster Charlie Hunt, each kicking 3 goals.

Whitford powers on undefeated, with the middle of the table tightly congested — Brentwood Booragoon, West Coast and Swan Athletic all locked on four wins, separated only by percentage. After the bye, West Coast hosts Cockburn Lakes, and Brentwood Booragoon takes on Swan Athletic, with both games having the potential to seriously shake up the top half of the table.

Swan Athletic held off Ocean Ridge by just 5 points, 20–15, in the tightest contest of the round. Raykaya Ryder continues her impressive start to the season, scoring alongside her Swan Athletic captain, Miescha Antunovich. Despite the loss, Ocean Ridge's future looks far brighter with Keela Totten kicking a goal on her senior debut while she’s still playing in the year 11/12 competition, also finding a goal was 17-year-old WAFLW prospect Olivia Ferguson.

Kwinana proved too strong for Bullcreek Leeming, 33–16, on the back of a decisive third quarter that saw the Knights kick 3 goals unanswered. Kwinana’s Maningning Morales marked her senior debut with a goal, as Kate Reid delivered another quality performance, and Teah Taylor maintained her commanding lead at the top of the goalkicking charts with a goal.

Rossmoyne accounted for Collegians by 20 points, 32–12, with MacKenzie Thompson kicking 3 goals in a new personal best for goals in a single senior game. The win takes Rossmoyne well out of the bottom teams for the foreseeable future as they begin to find the form that once had them playing in the Budget Car and Truck Rental A Grade Women.

Scarborough were in complete control against Warnbro from the opening bounce, winning 52–14. Amy Fortescue continued her excellent form with 2 goals, and Lola Moore also got on the board, while Warnbro's Darcie Wood kicked her first goal in senior football — a moment worth celebrating regardless of the scoreline.

The result of the round came from John Dunn Memorial Oval, where Kelmscott defeated Piara Waters 135–0. Piara Waters failed to register a single score across four quarters, while Imahra Cameron kicked 8 goals in the highest individual haul in a single game in the league so far this season. Stephanie Hunter was not far behind with 5 goals in just her second game back after a lengthy absence from football.

Round 8 delivers the competition's standout fixture immediately — Swan Athletic host Scarborough in a top two clash that could go a long way to shaping the finals picture. Kelmscott travel to Rossmoyne in what will be a test of how genuine both sides are in challenging the big teams.

Wanneroo remained the competition's only unbeaten side with a 24-point win over Quinns District, 69–45, though Quinns District pushed hard, matching the Roos on scoring in every quarter bar the first. The matchday celebrated a huge milestone for Reahan Allaway, who played his 200th game for Quinns District. Jamie Dowen and Noah Vanderwiel kicked 2 goals each for a Quinns District side that continues to show fight despite sitting winless.

Hamersley Carine produced one of their best performances of the season to account for Mosman Park by 59 points, 96–37. Unlike previous outings where they have struggled early, the Hawks were at their most dangerous from the first bounce — kicking five unanswered goals in the opening quarter. Chris Martin led with 5 goals, captain Tate Robertson added 2, as Jayden Rae aka ‘Juice’ bagged his first senior league goal.

Forrestdale got the better of local rivals Jandakot by 40 points, 91–51, with a 6-goal second quarter the decisive passage for the Falcons, a result that keeps Forrestdale just one win clear of Jandakot at second last.

Cockburn Cobras survived a genuine Kwinana scare, escaping with a 7-point win, 75–68. Cockburn Cobras will have to consider themselves lucky as Kwinana kicked 2 goals and 7 behinds, a shock for a side that’s usually so strong in front of goal. Julian Hulten led the Cobras with 5 goals, while Joshua Elphick kicked 4 for Kwinana to take his season tally to 28.

Wembley dismantled Thornlie 100–60 in a result that defied pre-match expectations. Wembley built an 8-goal lead by half-time and never looked back. Wembley’s Joshua Sukuroski was key to the quick start on the scoreboard, finishing with 4 goals, while Joshua Richards added 2 to take his season tally to 27. Thornlie saved face after Wembley’s quick start with Captain Bailey Smith putting in a performance from the middle, along with the league’s top goalkicker Cooper Shord, who added 3 goals, taking his total to 30 goals.

Returning from the bye, round 8 in the Budget Car and Truck Rental C1 Men starts with some great fixtures. Third-place Thornlie hosts top-spot Wanneroo, the undefeated Roos will be steadfast favourites; however, Thornlie haven’t lost at home since round 2 last year. Cockburn Cobras will travel to Hamersley Carine in a game that could go either way, with the Cobras looking to get a win over one of the top established sides in the league.
