The result of the round came at Fremantle CBC, who edged University by a single point, 8.13 (61) to 9.6 (60). CBC dominated much of the contest, winning contested possessions 136-87, but inaccurate kicking kept University in the game. University's strength at the stoppages, particularly around ball-ups, where they won the clearances 18-10, also ensured they remained within striking distance. University had the better of the opening half, taking a 16-point lead into the main break. After half-time, however, they struggled to capitalise on their forward entries, managing a scoring efficiency of just 29 per cent compared to CBC's 60 per cent, despite the home side finishing with only 3 more inside 50s. As expected from the competition's second-best marking side, CBC dictated the tempo in the air, taking 79 marks to University's 61. The home side generated repeat attacks through their aerial strength and work at ground level, eventually finding the decisive scores in a thrilling finish. Cody Smith was the difference for CBC, with 3 goals, 20 disposals and 8 tackles. Matt Ward was outstanding through the midfield with 21 disposals, 7 clearances and 6 intercept possessions, while Lachlan Turley generated plenty of drive from half-back with 17 disposals, 9 marks and 8 rebound 50s as CBC's counterattack repeatedly punished University. University made CBC earn every inch until the final siren. Jye Bolton produced a season-best 32 disposals, 7 inside 50s and 8 rebound 50s, while Sullivan Moody added 29 disposals and 8 clearances in another tireless midfield display.

Scarborough overran Baldivis in the second half to run out comfortable 12.10 (82) to 8.7 (55) winners. The margin reflected Scarborough's relentless pressure, laying 54 tackles to Baldivis' 50, earning a 20-8 free-kick advantage and converting 10 goals directly from turnovers. The contest was a tale of two halves. Baldivis led throughout the opening half before Scarborough emerged from the main break a different side, piling on 5.1 in the third quarter while holding Baldivis scoreless. Their pressure was suffocating, catching Baldivis holding the ball 6 times as they seized complete control of territory through precise ball use and relentless numbers around the contest. Trent Coyler was instrumental in just his second game of the season, finishing with 21 disposals, 8 clearances, 5 rebound 50s and 4 inside 50s to drive the midfield. Up forward, Sean Bradley (15 disposals, 2 goals) and James Hart (18 disposals, 2 goals) capitalised on Scarborough's dominance, while Tom Wallis provided plenty of drive from defence. Darcy Hobbs also gave his midfield first use, collecting 35 hit-outs to lay the platform for a crucial victory in Scarborough's fight to remain in the Budget Car and Truck Rental A Grade. Baldivis' best included Haydn Matthews, who battled hard with 19 disposals, 7 clearances and 10 ground-ball gets. At the same time, Emmanuel Collard contributed 6 tackles, 5 inside 50s and a goal in an otherwise frustrating afternoon for Baldivis.

Curtin Uni Wesley overcame a determined Ocean Ridge outfit, winning 9.7 (61) to 8.4 (52). Although Ocean Ridge finished with more disposals, Curtin's ability to generate repeat forward entries proved decisive, finishing with a 46-29 inside-50 advantage. A dominant 51-30 hit-out advantage through Jack Blechynden's 39 hit-outs was huge in getting the win, giving the midfield first use throughout the afternoon, with George Wessels often the recipient, putting in an outstanding performance with 25 disposals, 10 clearances and 6 inside 50s. Carden Taylor backed up last week's strong display with 26 disposals and 7 marks, while Ethan Maguire was equally influential, finishing with 22 disposals, 7 marks and 6 intercept possessions. Ocean Ridge's best once again was Brodie Matthew Gray, who amassed an extraordinary 38 disposals, 14 ground-ball gets and 6 intercept possessions, helping Ocean Ridge take a four-point lead into the main break. Daniel Rowe embodied Ocean Ridge's fight with 18 disposals and 10 tackles, while Noah Clune was the focal point in attack, kicking 4 of his side's 8 goals.

Trinity Aquinas maintained the pressure on the competition leaders with a 14.9 (93) to 9.5 (59) victory over Mt Lawley. Trinity Aquinas narrowly won the overall clearance count 37-33 but dominated at centre bounces, 13-6, while turning defensive pressure into scoreboard impact with 10 goals sourced directly from turnovers, largely driven by a relentless midfield effort. Matthew Rodan was best afield with 30 disposals, 9 clearances and 8 inside 50s, while Keeshawn Cook produced a brilliant all-round performance, collecting 21 disposals, 8 inside 50s and booting 4 goals. Blake Borret played a crucial role as the deepest forward, finishing with 4 goals as he repeatedly capitalised on Trinity Aquinas' rapid ball movement. The visitors' dominance stemmed from their ability to win the hard ball, doubling Mt Lawley 30-15 in hard-ball gets, while their tackling pressure helped generate 47 inside 50s to 34 and kept the ball locked in their attacking half for long periods. Harrison Hyde was one of Trinity Aquinas' unsung heroes, finishing with 8 turnovers and 6 clearances from 16 disposals, while Brady Alvaro used the ball superbly, recording 15 disposals at 93 per cent efficiency, 6 marks and 3 goal involvements. Mt Lawley battled hard, winning the tackle count 47-39 and the hit-out battle 51-38 thanks largely to Jedd Edwards' monster 50-hitout performance.

North Beach held off a persistent Kingsway challenge to prevail 13.8 (86) to 11.6 (72). North Beach laid the foundation with a fast start before another strong third quarter created enough separation to withstand Kingsway's late pressure. North Beach laid 42 tackles to Kingsway's 36 and were particularly ferocious inside the defensive 50, winning that battle 15 tackles to 2, while also edging the clearance count 35-30. Kingsway's aerial work, however, was a notable strength — they out-marked North Beach 65-52, surprising against one of the competition's strongest marking sides. Frank Anderson, in his first game back since round 12, starred for North Beach with 30 disposals and 13 clearances, while returning forward Alexander Marklew picked up where he left off in round 10, with 5 goals. Leigh Kitchin added 21 disposals and 8 clearances through the midfield. Kingsway matched North Beach in many areas, particularly through Lachlan Vanirsen, who collected 23 disposals and 10 one-percenters, and Tyler Senge, who finished with 24 disposals, 6 tackles and 4 goal involvements to earn the Jax Tyre and Auto Player of the Week award. Ultimately, North Beach's efficiency inside 50 proved decisive. Kingsway spent almost the entire afternoon chasing North Beach, who led for all but 2 minutes of the contest. As has been the theme throughout their season, North Beach laid the foundation with a blistering first quarter, kicking 5.1 to 2.3, before another dominant burst in the third term (4.4 to 1.0) created a margin that proved difficult to reel in. Ultimately, the difference came from North Beach's ability to maximise their opportunities. They scored from 55 per cent of their 38 inside-50 entries compared to Kingsway's 47 per cent from 36 entries, a small but decisive edge in a hard-fought contest.

Upcoming Round Preview

Round 13 is highlighted by a crucial finals-shaping clash between fourth-placed University and sixth-placed Trinity Aquinas. Scarborough face ladder leaders Fremantle CBC banking on a home advantage to give them the extra edge they need, while North Beach travels to Ocean Ridge looking to maintain pressure on top spot. Curtin Uni Wesley hosts Mt Lawley, and Kingsway will look to strengthen its grip on fifth against Baldivis.

Wembley extended its winning streak to 6 matches with a commanding 4.10 (34) to 1.0 (6) victory over Baldivis, moving into third position. Wembley controlled the ruck contest from start to finish, winning hit-outs 60-8, with Paris Laurie and Mia Jackson swapping ruck duties and making it nearly impossible for Baldivis to get a foot in the game — Jackson playing her best game this season with 35 hit-outs, 13 disposals, 3 marks and 3 inside 50s. Wembley were quick to turn their stoppage dominance into a 41-8 inside-50-entries advantage, with their link-up play through handball chains — at 70 per cent efficiency — more than enough to see off a determined Baldivis outfit. Jorja Schell was outstanding through the middle, racking up 28 disposals and 12 clearances to go with a goal, while Prudence Cordes was equally as good with 23 disposals and 10 clearances of her own — between them, the pair won more than half of Wembley's 40 total clearances. Baldivis never stopped competing, winning the tackle count 62-36, with Kelsey Timms producing another outstanding performance through 23 disposals, 7 clearances and the side's only goal.

Trinity Aquinas continued its pursuit of top spot with a comfortable 5.8 (38) to 0.2 (2) win over Melville. The visitors controlled possession and territory throughout, restricting Melville to just 8 inside-50 entries. Jessica Schleicher was the match winner with 4 goals, while Abbey Waddell had 21 disposals and Nadia Pisano had 20 disposals, leading another dominant midfield display. Melville's afternoon was defined by effort without reward — they laid 75 tackles to Trinity Aquinas' 45, with Isabella Strnadica the standout for Melville on 22 disposals, 5 tackles and 4 clearances. But with Trinity Aquinas controlling territory, with 22 inside 50s to 8, and finishing with clinical precision, Melville's pressure numbers could not translate into scoreboard impact.

Curtin Uni Wesley's unbeaten season continued with a 6.7 (43) to 3.0 (18) victory over Hamersley Carine. Samantha Fieldler dominated the ruck with a career-best 45 hit-outs, allowing Curtin Uni Wesley to control clearances 37-18 and repeatedly score from stoppages. Leanne Gubbins produced her best performance of the season with 29 disposals, 6 clearances and 6 inside 50s, while Larissa Versaci added 25 disposals and a goal. Hamersley Carine's Lauren Bulbeck was arguably the best player on the ground, if not the performer of the round regardless of result — her 26 disposals, 12 contested possessions and 6 rebound 50s were made even more impressive considering it was her first game back since round 9. The only goalkickers for the Hawks in 3.0, Amy Hunt with 17 disposals and a goal and Jasmin Barram, who kicked 2 goals from 13 disposals, provided a silver lining — if they get more sight of goals, they can trust they'll be put through the big sticks. Hamersley Carine's pressure numbers were genuinely impressive, leading pressure acts 38-14 and rebound 50s 23-10 with similar efficiency to Curtin Uni Wesley.

Quinns District claimed an important 4.4 (28) to 2.1 (13) victory over North Beach in a result that keeps the race for finals football alive. Quinns District's superior disposal count, 202 to 179, gave them control for large periods against North Beach, with Jamarah Walley the standout on 29 disposals, 3 clearances and 5 inside-50 entries. Michelle Smith chipped in with a goal and 6 hit-outs in a busy afternoon around the ground, while Olivia Earle's 14 disposals added further drive through the midfield. Quinns District's 24-17 edge in inside 50s and 34-25 advantage in marks reflected a side that controlled territory for most of the contest. North Beach took too long to get going, only hitting their known level in the second half. Their most influential player, Jay Ainsworth, had 16 disposals, 6 clearances and 5 rebound 50s, along with the consistency of Eva Popovsky, who added 21 disposals of her own, keeping the game a contest when Quinns District looked set to run away with it. Gabrielle Peacock's 15 hit-outs kept North Beach competitive around the stoppages, but with Quinns District finding 24 marks inside their forward 50 to North Beach's 5, the visitors' efficiency in front of goal ultimately proved the difference.

University strengthened its finals position with a hard-fought 5.2 (32) to 3.2 (20) victory over North Fremantle. University's defensive resilience and cut-throat nature going forward was the backbone of the win — a disadvantage of 17 inside-50 entries to North Fremantle's 27 wasn't an issue, due to a strong scoreboard foundation laid out early that allowed them to stay composed. University's better use of the footy, finishing with 43 per cent disposal efficiency to North Fremantle's 35 per cent, was a big difference, seen at its best in transition and in their defensive exits. Helen Taylor was best afield with 21 disposals, 6 clearances and 8 turnovers, while Tarnica Stewart's 28 disposals and 6 clearances provided the engine-room drive. Ashlee Hardisty, the quiet worker for University going forward, was pivotal in creating early scoreboard pressure with 5 score involvements, 3 of which were goals. North Fremantle dominated the hit-out count 42-30 and led pressure acts 54-43, but wasted opportunity was their undoing — 27 inside-50 entries yielded just 3 goals. Ella Ward was outstanding with 17 disposals, 5 clearances and a goal, with Katelyn Catalona, in her second game back, putting up a commendable performance with 14 disposals and 6 intercept possessions.

Upcoming Round Preview

North Fremantle hosts North Beach in a crucial finals contest, with Quinns District looking to strengthen their credentials going into September when they host Baldivis.

Brentwood Booragoon produced the upset of the season, handing ladder leaders Whitford their first defeat with a commanding 11.8 (74) to 5.9 (39) victory. After an even opening, Brentwood took control through relentless pressure to strengthen its grip on third place. Parker Doncon continued his excellent season with 3 goals to remain among the competition's leading goal-kickers, while Jackson Edgar and Jacob Hall each added 2. Tarir Bayok was outstanding in a best-on-ground performance, while Shaun Byrne's spectacular high-flying mark became one of the talking points of the weekend after featuring on Nine News.

Tyler Mouritz produced one of the individual performances of the season, kicking 13 goals — the biggest haul in Men's A or B Grade this year — to extend his lead atop the B Grade goal-kicking table. Michael De Gasperis also celebrated his 50th game in style with 2 goals as Kalamunda piled on 25 majors.

Cockburn Lakes continued its charge towards the top three with a convincing 15.15 (105) to 7.6 (48) victory over Collegians. Joshua Grant led the way with 5 goals to move into the competition's top four goal-kickers, while Lachlan Johnson added 3. Collegians battled through James McCormick and Oliver Pentony, who each kicked 3 goals, but couldn't match Cockburn Lakes' attacking depth.

West Coast strengthened its finals hopes with a comprehensive 16.16 (112) to 7.5 (47) win over Bullcreek Leeming. The home side controlled the contest from the opening bounce to create valuable breathing room inside the top five. Samuel Bevan kicked 4 goals to continue his strong recent form, Jackson Slater added 3, while Jack Turnbull celebrated his first senior goal of the season.

North Fremantle maintained the pressure on Whitford with a comfortable 16.13 (109) to 7.7 (49) victory over Swan Athletic. John Sgherza kicked 5 goals to continue his excellent campaign, while Hamish Rodgers added 3 as North Fremantle remained firmly in the hunt for top spot. Tyson Borg provided one of the few highlights for Swan Athletic, kicking his first senior goal.

Swan Athletic strengthened its hold on a top-three position with a thrilling 4.3 (27) to 3.6 (24) victory over second-placed Kwinana. The lead changed hands in the final quarter before Hayley Baker's fourth goal restored Swan Athletic's advantage, with two late behinds proving enough to secure the 3-point win. Baker's 4-goal haul lifts her to 18 majors for the season and narrows the gap between the sides to just 2 premiership points.

Ocean Ridge kept its finals hopes alive with a hard-fought 3.2 (20) to 2.4 (16) win over Rossmoyne. Emma Pickerill, Taylor Evans and the in-form Achol Deng all found the scoreboard in a low-scoring contest where every opportunity proved crucial. The victory consolidates fifth position while keeping Ocean Ridge within striking distance of the top four.

Warnbro produced one of its strongest performances of the season, defeating Piara Waters 6.6 (42) to 2.2 (14). After an even first half, Warnbro took control with a 5-goal third quarter. Olivia Crawford starred with 3 goals, while Amber Boyd, Billie-Jae Thompson and Nikkita-Jayne Ward also hit the scoreboard.

Bullcreek Leeming delivered the most dominant display of the round, dismantling Collegians 18.12 (120) to 0.0 (0). Jacinta Stevens continued her remarkable season with 6 goals to extend her lead atop the league goal-kicking table, while Audrey Koehler and Keira Kennedy combined for a further 9 majors as Bullcreek strengthened its imposing percentage.

Ladder leaders Scarborough collected another 4 premiership points after Kelmscott forfeited their scheduled fixture.

Upcoming Round Preview

Swan Athletic will look to build on its upset victory against Rossmoyne, while Bullcreek Leeming meets Piara Waters aiming to continue its scoring form. Hamersley Carine strengthened its hold on fourth place with a polished 12.12 (84) to 7.6 (48) victory over Forrestdale. Hamersley Carine controlled the contest from the outset after restricting Forrestdale to 1 behind in the opening quarter, steadily building the margin throughout the afternoon. The Hawks, Max Dennis led the way with 4 goals, while Bonheur Cubahiro and Andrew Vawser each added 2. With Kwinana and Cockburn Cobras dropping points, the win may have been expected, but nonetheless important to their finals charge.

Thornlie showed why they have been so difficult to beat all season with a comprehensive win over Quinns District 15.12 (102) to 7.7 (49). After a competitive opening term, Thornlie took control with 12 goals across the final 3 quarters to consolidate third position. Ryan McAuliffe led up forward with 3 goals, with the ever-reliable Noah Vanderwiel chipping in for 2 majors, taking his total to 16 for the season.

Mosman Park continued its late-season resurgence with a 14.10 (94) to 7.10 (52) victory over Jandakot. Mosman Park's Thomas Smith again starred with 6 goals, extending his remarkable purple patch to 23 goals across his past 4 matches, while Joshua Barnett chipped in with 3 majors as Mosman Park secured back-to-back wins.

Ladder leaders Wanneroo were pushed harder than they have been for several weeks before pulling away late to defeat Cockburn Cobras 12.8 (80) to 9.5 (59). Cockburn Cobras held a 5-point lead at the final break before Wanneroo finished strongly with 4 unanswered goals. Wanneroo's Blake Baker, at the head of the comeback, kicked 4 goals, while Harrison Wain celebrated his first senior goal since debuting in Round 11. Despite the loss, Julian Hulten continued his outstanding season with another 5-goal haul.

Wembley recovered from a nightmare start to defeat Kwinana 8.11 (59) to 7.7 (49). Kwinana burst to a 25-7 quarter-time lead after Joshua Elphick kicked 3 early goals, but Wembley gradually worked its way back into the contest before taking control after half-time. Wembley's Josh Richards and Joshua Sukuroski each kicked 3 goals, while Elphick finished with 4 goals, and brother Harry Elphick got 2 goals.

Upcoming Round Preview

All eyes now turn to Thornlie Oval, where Hamersley Carine can climb into third with a victory of more than 2 goals over Thornlie in what shapes as the match of Round 14. Elsewhere, unbeaten ladder leaders Wanneroo will be expected to continue their perfect season against Jandakot, while second-placed Wembley takes on Quinns District looking to keep the pressure on Wanneroo. Mosman Park will aim to continue its resurgence at home against Kwinana, with the visitors desperate to stay in touch with the top four after last week's loss to Wembley. Rounding out the fixture, Forrestdale hosts Cockburn Cobras, with both sides looking to bounce back after defeats and build momentum heading into the final month of the home-and-away season.
