Ocean Ridge claimed a crucial win in their bid to avoid relegation, slotting three unanswered goals in the final term to edge out Baldivis by two points in the A Grade match of the round.

Reece Jolliffe led the Eagles’ comeback with four goals, including the match winner on the run with minutes to spare, giving his side a vital victory away from home.

The Ocean Ridge forward partnered with Noah Clune in attack to combine for seven of their side’s eight majors.

In a match of momentum swings at Baldivis District Sporting Complex, the Eagles were held goalless in the first term, but brought the margin back to just seven points at the main break with a strong second quarter.

Ocean Ridge flipped the script in the last, holding the Brumbies scoreless and overturning a 19-point three-quarter-time deficit to edge out Baldivis in a win that puts them six points clear of 9th-placed Mt Lawley.

With just four remaining games of the season, the loss leaves the recently promoted Brumbies with work to do to extend their maiden A Grade stint, currently sitting in last place with just one win.

 

University 13.10 (88) defeated Mt Lawley 7.10 (52)

University kept their hopes of a finals double chance alive with a 36-point win over Mt Lawley.

Despite losing the disposal and tackle count, Uni were able to withstand Mt Lawley’s pressure, setting the game up in the second and third quarters to work up an unassailable eight-goal lead at three-quarter time.

Missing spearhead Charlie Carrington-Jones this week, Marco Ghiselli stepped up to the plate for University with a season-high three goals.

Sullivan Moody led all comers with 34 disposals and 153 ranking points for the home side, while Menno Inverarity had 27 touches and kicked two goals for Uni as they consolidated their spot in the top five.

Spider Lockitt tried hard for the visitors with 28 disposals, while Mitchell Gupanis led the way up forward with three goals.

The Hawks sit in the relegation danger zone with crucial games against North Beach and Baldvis looming in the next fortnight that will shape whether they stay in A Grade in 2027.

Trinity Aquinas 15.14 (104) defeated Scarborough 4.12 (36)

In a clinical second-half performance, Trinity Aquinas were far too strong for Scarborough, running out 68-point winners to keep their finals hopes active.

Ryan Vermeesch kicked four for the Boomers as they closed within six points of Kingsway in fifth with just a month to go in the season.

Keeshawn Cook and veteran Matthew Rodan were forces in the midfield for the home side, combining for 14 clearances between them.

Struggling to make the most of their early momentum, the Sea Eagles were firmly on the back foot after quarter time, conceding thirteen goals in the last three quarters.

The loss deepens their relegation battle with Baldivis, Ocean Ridge and Mt Lawley, dropping them to eighth spot on the ladder following the Eagles' victory over the Brumbies.

 

North Beach 14.7 (91) defeated Curtin Uni Wesley 7.2 (44)

In an underwhelming clash between last year’s grand finalists at Charles Riley Reserve, North Beach continued their recent domination over Curtin Uni Wesley, emerging 47-point victors.

Trailing at quarter time, the home side wrestled control of the game in the second quarter, winning inside 50s 17-4 and capitalising on midfield turnovers to kick five goals to one in the term.

Joey Deegan had a fiery start for the winners, kicking three majors in the first half alongside main target Alexander Marklew, who also added three goals in the match to bring his tally to 44 for the season.

Josh Deluca and captain Frank Anderson ensured the battle in the centre was won by North Beach, the former picking up 29 disposals and 151 rankings points in a dominant display.

In a setback to their premiership aspirations, George Wessells toiled hard for Curtin Uni Wesley with 24 disposals.

 

Fremantle CBC 10.8 (68) defeated Kingsway 9.3 (57)

Fremantle CBC ensured they still have the A Grade minor premiership within their grasp as they survived a spirited challenge from Kingsway.

The Roos led by nine at the half and could sniff Fremantle CBC’s second loss of the season even deep into the last quarter when they trailed by just five points.

It would take a late settling sealing goal from Cody Smith to consolidate an 11-point win for the ladder leaders, the final of his three majors for the afternoon.

Smith was served well all day by Nash Miller and Matt Ward in the CBC midfield in a win that maintains their side’s four-point advantage over second place North Beach.

Braydyn Furmark continued his great season in front of goal for Kingsway with three goals, while Lachlan Vanirsen was a thorn in CBC’s side all day, racking up 29 disposals and 134 ranking points for the visitors.

Curtin Uni Wesley 2.4 (16) defeated by Melville 3.5 (23)

In one of the upsets of the season, ninth-placed Melville shocked the previously undefeated Curtin Uni Wesley in a monumental seven-point boilover.

Set up by a rampaging third quarter where they slotted two goals from turnovers, the Rams made the most of their chances to hold off a final quarter onslaught from the ladder-leading Tigers to hand them their first loss of the season.

Melville defender Isabella Strnadica was undoubtedly the difference between the two sides, amassing a game-high 24 disposals, 11 clearances and 122 ranking points.

The Rams were unfazed coming up against their highly credentialled opposition, providing a hope they might make a last-gasp escape from automatic relegation in what was just their second win of 2026.

The loss opens the door for Trinity Aquinas and University to usurp Curtin Uni Wesley in top spot entering the final month of the home-and-away season.

 

Trinity Aquinas 9.5 (59) defeated Wembley 0.1 (1)

Trinity Aquinas’ third straight senior Women’s premiership is still very much on the cards as the Boomers accounted for Wembley easily by 58 points at Collins Oval.

Bouncing back from a loss to the ladder-leading Curtin Uni Wesley, TA’s were back to their defensive brilliance in round 14.

It is the third time in the past four weeks the Boomers have held their opposition goalless.

Despite the loss, Wembley still sit poised to make an impact in this year’s A Grade Women’s finals, sitting 12 points clear of Fremantle CBC in fifth, in what was just their fourth loss of their 2026 campaign.

It doesn’t get easier for the Magpies though, as they face the daunting task of a 13-1 Curtin Uni Wesley in Round 15.

 

Hamersley Carine 1.1 (7) defeated by Quinns District 8.4 (52)

Reigniting a rivalry that began in B Grade two seasons ago, Quinns District got the bragging rights over Hamersley Carine with a strong win on the road to keep them in touch with the final five.

Hamersley kicked the second goal of the match to level the scores at quarter time, but it would be all Bulls from then on, as they ran out convincing 45-point victors.

Tia Bergin proved too much for the Hawks defence with three goals, while Kaitlyn Roper was the key for Quinns in the middle with 25 disposals and eight clearances.

The win sees the Bulls just percentage away from a surprising finals berth following their promotion to A Grade this season.

Lauren Bulbeck was important for Hamersley Carine with 73 ranking points, while Jasmin Barram laid a game-high five tackles for the recently promoted Hawks, who are still looking for their second win of the season in what has been a tricky rise to A Grade so far.

 

North Beach 0.3 (3) defeated by University 6.1 (37)

University became the second side to hold their opposition goalless in Round 14 with their victory over North Beach at Charles Riley.

The Tigers won the disposal count 204-190 and hitouts 37-30, but could not dent the Stormers on the scoreboard after they conceded the first two goals of the match within the first six minutes of the encounter.

Following a stalemate second quarter, the visitors added two majors in each of the third and final terms to sew up their eleventh win for the season, putting them within touching distance of Trinity Aquinas, who sit a game clear in second spot.

Tarnica Stewart was critical for University with 23 disposals and nine tackles alongside teammate Elyssa Melville’s 19-disposal and two-goal effort.

Siénna Joubert was a shining light for North Beach with 22 disposals in a loss for the Tigers which significantly dims their chances of finals action.

 

Baldivis 3.4 (22) defeated by North Fremantle 6.4 (40)

23 disposals from midfielder Ella Ward and two crucial majors courtesy of forward Taite Lantzke guided North Fremantle to their seventh win of the season, holding off Baldivis by three goals.

With games against all of the top three teams to come in the next month, it was a vital win on the road for the Magpies, who cling onto their spot in the top five by only percentage.

Leading at every change, North Fremantle were given first use from ruck Linda Armannsson, who had 31 hitouts for the visitors.

Captain Kelsey Timms kicked two goals for Baldivis in the loss as they look to get back on the winners list in Round 15 against University at UWA Sports Park.

Bullcreek Leeming 10.3 (63) drew with Whitford 9.9 (63)

Beasley Reserve was the scene of the first draw of the B Grade season as lowly Bullcreek Leeming nearly pulled off a major surprise against top of the table Whitford.

Leading at every change, the Bombers appeared to be on the cusp of securing their first win since round 12 after a Jack Drennan major gave them a 22-point lead with just 18 minutes to play.

But the Warriors would finish the game strongly, kicking the final four goals of the match to salvage two points away from home.

Whitford forward Max Walters slotted four goals, matching Jacob Warne’s tally for Bullcreek Leeming at the other end.

Sitting in relegation territory, the two points could still prove vital for the Bombers in their bid to stay in B Grade, pushing them two points clear of ninth-placed Collegians.

 

Cockburn Lakes 12.18 (90) defeated Swan Athletic 9.4 (58)

Cockburn Lakes handed Swan Athletic their fourth consecutive loss, running away 32-point victors at Anning Park.

Giacomo Millucci was a beacon up forward once again for the Warriors with four majors, while Seth Goddard also chipped in with three goals for the home side.

The win leaves Cockburn Lakes poised to play finals, sitting in fourth spot on the ladder with a 10-5 record.

Meanwhile, a rough month for Swan Athletic has left them with the difficult task of turning their fortunes around as the home-and-away season concludes, the Swans now sitting four points and percentage adrift of the top five.

 

West Coast 15.11 (101) defeated Collegians 11.5 (71)

Buoyed after an enormous win over Melville the week prior, Collegians were within striking distance of claiming their second straight scalp, after a six-goal quarter got them within nine points of hosts West Coast at three-quarter time.

But the Tigers would go up another gear in the final term, piling on four goals to win comfortably by 30 points, ensuring Collegians will have a battle on their hands to avoid relegation to C1.

Callum Wilde kicked six goals in his best game of the season for the home side.

The win gives West Coast a buffer against close rivals Kalamunda and Swan Athletic, who sit on the doorstep of the top five.

Brentwood Booragon 13.7 (85) defeated Kalamunda 9.8 (62)

Brentwood Booragon added a further hurdle to Kalamunda’s efforts to secure a place in the B Grade finals with a 23-point win.

The victory continues an impressive run of form for the Bulldogs, who have not lost since Round 9 and appear as genuine flag contenders.

Looking to guarantee a double chance in the upcoming finals, Ezekiel Bolton slotted three goals for the hosts.

Tyler Mouritz extended his lead as the competition’s leading goalscorer with a further four majors for the Cougars, bringing his total to 57 for the season.

The loss means games against Bullcreek Leeming and Collegians are now must-wins for Kalamunda, with a final round clash against Whitford at home also appearing critical.

C1 Grand Finalists in 2025, the Cougars are on the cusp of qualifying for the finals in a bid to return to A Grade for the first time since 2019.

 

Melville 3.2 (20) defeated North Fremantle 33.11 (209)

Melville’s horror return to B Grade continued as North Fremantle defeated the Rams by 189 points at Stock Road Oval.

The Magpies piled on an astonishing 33 goals for the game, including 13 in the third quarter to hand Melville their biggest loss of the season in a new low for the Rams following their upset C1 premiership triumph last year.

In what became a goal-scoring buffet for North Fremantle, state representative John Sgherza was the chief destructor, kicking twelve majors for the second-placed Magpies.

Joining him in the scoring spree was Mitch Sinnott, who added six of his own, while teammates Hamish Rodgers and Ethan Paholski also added bags of five and four respectively in a day out for the visitors.

The win gave North Fremantle an important percentage boost in their efforts to run down Whitford in first.

It was Melville’s fourth consecutive loss by over 100 points and the first time this season a team has crossed the 200-point threshold.

 

Budget Car and Truck Rental B Grade Women

It was a round of demolitions in the B Women, as the top five faced the bottom five.

Ocean Ridge made light work of Piara Waters to the tune of 72 points; Kwinana kept Collegians scoreless in a 102-point victory, and Bullcreek Leeming easily batted Kelmscott aside by 84.

The two closest matches of the round were twin 52-point victories on the road by Scarborough and Swan Athletic, who easily accounted for Rossmoyne and Warnbro respectively.

With just a fortnight to go until the commencement of finals, a weekend of arresting matches awaits.

Headlining the upcoming round is a clash between Kwinana and Bullcreek Leeming, who both sit on 10 wins each, with a win nearly guaranteeing the victor a double chance and the opportunity to host the Qualifying Final.

The matchup promises the prospect of a shootout between Teah Taylor of the Knights and Jacinta Stevens of the Bombers, who currently tops this season’s goal tally.

Taylor was unstoppable for Kwinana in their victory last week at home, booting nine goals. Meanwhile, Stevens slotted through eight of Bullcreek Leeming’s 14 majors in their big win over the Bulldogs, notching up her 50th finish through the big sticks for the season.

Stevens has already surpassed the PFL Women’s record season goal haul, and the Bombers will be hoping she can extend that electric form against the Knights this Saturday.

In another finals preview, Swan Athletic will host Ocean Ridge as the Eagles look to sew up a home elimination final, hoping to overturn the five-point loss to the Swans earlier in the season.

In the contest of the round, Wembley held off a relentless Hamersley Carine in a tight twilight affair at Carine Open Space.

Only a point separated the clash between third and second at three-quarter time, but a four-goal final term was enough for the Magpies to pull away with the victory over the plucky Hawks.

Lachlan Martinis provided run from defence and competition-leading goal scorer Josh Richards slotted three majors as Wembley closed out the hard-fought victory 11.8 (74) to 9.8 (62).

Hamersley Carine captain Tate Robertson was named as his side’s best in their 12-point loss, which broke a run of three straight wins for the Hawks.

Forrestdale continued Thornlie’s poor run of recent form with an underdog 23-point victory on the road.

The loss meant the Lions fell outside of the top three, with Hamersley Carine clinging onto the double chance with a 0.8% advantage despite their loss to Wembley.

Trailing by three goals at quarter time, the Falcons piled on 15 majors in the following three quarters to win 16.6 (102) to 12.7 (79) in a victory that almost guarantees their future in C1 for 2027.

Quinns District also kept their hopes of staying up burning with a thrilling three-point victory over Mosman Park, winning 8.13 (61) to 8.10 (58)

The Mosquitoes could not hold their 10-point three-quarter-time lead as the Bulls charged home in the last to secure their third win of the season, with Quinns forward Joel Whelan continuing his good run of recent form by kicking three of his side’s eight goals.

Kwinana kept the undefeated Wanneroo to just two goals at half-time, but the Roos proved too classy in the second half, coming away as 26-point victors at Medina Oval.

Ashlen Braidwood ensured his side’s winning ways continued with four crucial goals, as Wanneroo emerged victorious once again 9.14 (68) to 6.6 (42).

In the final match of the round, Cockburn Cobras kept their dim finals aspirations aglow with a triumph over last-placed Jandakot at Atwell Reserve, winning 13.9 (87) to 9.8 (62) against the struggling Jets.

If the Cobras are to have any chance of taking part in finals action, they must win handsomely this week against fifth-place Kwinana and the following round against Hamersley Carine, who sit in third.

Meanwhile, Jandakot’s hopes of playing C1 football next year hinge on defeating Forrestdale and Quinns District in their next two encounters, both of whom are coming off stirring victories in their most recent matchups.
