Expressions of Interest 2019 State Head Coach - Senior & Colts Teams

These key coaching roles play an integral role in identifying and developing the WAAFL's most talented players, culminating in participation in the State team program. To be considered for the roles, applicants will require excellent communication and leadership skills together with significant coaching experience and knowledge of the WAAFL system.

AFLX Tournament - Sat 16 Feb 2019
Wed, December 12, 2018 - 4:20 PMThe WAAFL together with the Bayswater Football Club will be conducting an AFLX tournament on Saturday 16 February 2019 at Pat O’Hara Reserve in Morley. A Senior Men's and Senior Women's division are open to nominations. Dependant on nominations, matches will be played between 9am and 7pm. It is expected that clubs will play 3 round-robin matches plus a final over the space of 2-3 hours. All players participating in the tournament must be registered on Sports TG with the WAAFL club they are playing for in 2019.

Amateur Players to Join Eagles Reserves
Wed, December 12, 2018 - 12:45 PMFour WAAFL players have signed with the West Coast Eagles new WAFL Reserves side for the 2019 season. Joel Ashman and Liam Robilliard from the Scarborough Football Club, Andrew Fisher from Kingsley and Trinity Aquinas’ Luke Salomone will line up for the West Coast Eagles Reserves next year. Joel Ashman has been rewarded after an outstanding 2018 season which saw him win both the CJ Jamieson medal as the A Grade Best and Fairest and the BJ Giles Medal as the Best on Ground in the A Grade Grand Final.

ABC Radio win WAAFL Media Award for the third year in a row

This is the third consecutive year ABC Radio has taken out the media award which is presented each year to the person/ team who has provided positive exposure to amateur football.

Wanneroo produce another WAFL coach

Brayden is the third successive Wanneroo League coach to be appointed a major role in the WAFL following in the footsteps of Brad Trpchev and Blake Arnold. Craig White to Coach Curtin Uni Wesley in 2019
Tue, October 9, 2018 - 11:41 AMCurtin Uni Wesley have secured former South Fremantle player Craig White as Club Coach for the 2019 Season. Craig White played 190 games for South Fremantle from 2004 – 2015 winning two premierships in 2005 and 2009. Craig was also Captain and Vice-Captain of the league side and won a reserves premiership in 2004 and a colts premiership in 2003.

North Fremantle AFC are $50,000 richer thanks to past player Rhys Felton
Wed, October 3, 2018 - 12:38 PMNorth Fremantle AFC have found themselves $50,000 richer thanks to ex player Rhys Felton. Rhys Felton who now resides in Melbourne competed in Sports Bet’s Double Barrel Longest Kick Competition last month. Rhys performed well through several rounds kicking around 70m to advance through to the Grand Final on Sunday 2 September.

‘Spirit of the Game’ Indicator Results
Thu, September 27, 2018 - 12:03 PMAs part of the WAAFL Strategic Plan 2017-2020 the board established a Spirit of the Game indicator to measure the competition’s integrity. The Spirit of the Game indicator aims to look at the conduct of the game in terms of fairness, decency and honesty which coaches, players, umpires and spectators bring to the game. A sample of 2751 players, club officials, coaches and umpires were invited to provide feedback at Rounds 1 to 6, 7 to 12 and 13 to 18 on the match day behaviour of players, coaches and spectators.
