The rebranding of the league will identify a clearer pathway for young men and women from across the Perth metropolitan area transitioning from junior to senior football clubs. General Manager David Armstrong said, “We believe the Perth Football League reflects our transformation from that 6 team Men’s competition in 1922 to a contemporary league with 248 men’s and women’s teams across 25 grades as we are today”.

Milton has dedicated 30 years to Football across junior and senior community football administration. Milton who is already a Life Member of two football clubs and the WAAFL is now being rewarded with the WAFC’s highest level of recognition. The award is given to individuals who have made an outstanding overall contribution to football in Western Australia.

These key coaching roles play an integral role in identifying and developing the WAAFL's most talented players, culminating in participation in the State team program. Read More [+]The WAAFL together with the Bayswater Football Club will be conducting an AFLX tournament on Saturday 16 February 2019 at Pat O’Hara Reserve in Morley. A Senior Men's and Senior Women's division are open to nominations. Dependant on nominations, matches will be played between 9am and 7pm. It is expected that clubs will play 3 round-robin matches plus a final over the space of 2-3 hours. All players participating in the tournament must be registered on Sports TG with the WAAFL club they are playing for in 2019.

Joel Ashman and Liam Robilliard from the Scarborough Football Club, Andrew Fisher from Kingsley and Trinity Aquinas’ Luke Salomone will line up for the West Coast Eagles Reserves next year. Joel Ashman has been rewarded after an outstanding 2018 season which saw him win both the CJ Jamieson medal as the A Grade Best and Fairest and the BJ Giles Medal as the Best on Ground in the A Grade Grand Final.
