100 Year Business Lunch Thu, August 12, 2021 - 4:00 PM

The Perth Football League hosted a Bunisess Networking Lunch on 6 August to celebrate our 100th year. The event was attended by over 220 people including Football Industry leaders, media personalities, titans of industry, local club sponsors and club volunters. 16 of the 21 tables were purchased by Perth Football League clubs to host their local partners and many clubs reported their surprise at how beneficial the event was at forming stronger relations with their valued sponsors.

The event was hosted by Channel 7 presenter Mark Readings and sponsored by Bartlett Workplace - the company of former Melbourne FC Chair and East Perth player Glen Bartlett which specialises in industrial relations and workplace training. Glen shared his experiences onstage as an East Perth player and Chair of one of the founding AFL Clubs to an engaged audience.

Other highlights of the day included:-

- The Welcome to the Country from Phil Narkle - WAFC's Indiginous & Inclusion Leader

- West Coast Eagles announcment as a Foundation Partner of the WA All Abilities Football Association by Deane Pieters

- The Interview with Richard Goyder AO - Chair of the AFL, Qantas, Telethon & Woodside

- The auction of the 100 Years Of Amatuer Football painting done by local artist Kevin Bynder purchased by Tim Sullivan from SL Sullivan Logistics

- Closest to the Hole competition won by LJ Hooker Thornie a loyal 30 year sponsor of the Thornlie FC.

Discussion has already started around how the event can be improved next year, the best time to fit it in and attract more PFL clubs, and who we can possibly get to be our key note speakers to compete with this year's speakers.
